Principal's Real Rob Roy

Oldenberg x SAW - Chestnut Gelding - 2005

Sire: Real Dream (OLD)
Dam Winter Luna (HANN)
Sire of Dam Winterstar (HANN)

Principal’s Real Rob Roy is Andy’s very beautiful Prix St George ride. Andy has had Rob since he was a young horse and now they’re achieving great things together.

In 2018 they were first in the country in the DSA Challenge for Prix St George, and they ranked 2nd in Gauteng and 9th in South Africa for Small Tour at the end of 2018.

Rob is a great schoolmaster and Andy often uses him to teach her pupils new movements.

After their morning ride Rob loves to go for a walk with Andy and the dogs around ‘his’ property, making sure that everything is in order. He’ll also never say no to a carrot!

Dageraad Dirktje

KWPN - Dark Bay Mare - 2008

Sire: Olympic Ferro (KWPN)
Dam Orenta
Sire of Dam Zediet

Dirktje was on her way to a great dressage career when she was injured and wasn’t able to compete anymore. But she’s not bored in her retirement – she’s busy with the job of producing absolutely beautiful foals for us!

Dee is a spectacular mum and we’re so excited to see her babies in the ring one day!

Dam Dageraad Dirkje (KWPN)
Sire of Dam Olympic Ferro (KWPN)

Supernova is a very exciting prospect for the future and we can’t wait to see Andy ride him down the centre line in a few years!

He had a rough start in life – he had a blockage in his gut when he was only a few months old. Thanks to our wonderful vet and hours of care by Andy and her team, he pulled through! We’re sure that he’ll take this fighting spirit into the dressage arena when the time comes!

Glenwood Escada

SAW - Dark Bay Filly - 2019

Sire: Berghof Eragon
Dam Dageraad Dirkje (KWPN)
Sire of Dam Olympic Ferro (KWPN)

Taruta

KWPN – Dark Bay Mare – 2000

Sire: Metall (KWPN)
Dam Jonkbvrouwruta (KWPN)
Sire of Dam El Corona (KWPN)

Taruta has some pretty famous family members (Her sire, Metall, is Uthopia’s father and her grandfather, Ferro, is an Olympic medallist)!

Tee has been at Glenwood for years and years! She took her young rider to Advanced, and now she’s teaching her human, Gillian Hepburn the ins and outs of dressage, like the wonderful schoolmistress that she is.

Despite her illustrious breeding, she loves nothing more than hanging out with her people, getting back rubs, going for a walk and eating grass. Just don’t ask her to get her feet wet!

Taruta is available for half or full lease. Have a look at our For Lease page for details.

SAW - Bay Gelding - 2004

Sire: Razdi’s Lanzar (SAW)

Lancie is the perfect pony – a genuine all-rounder. He’s a star show jumper and he competed in dressage with his owner, Gemma Nel, even becoming the Junior Gauteng Elementary Medium Champion!

Bennie Blue

Thoroughbred – Chestnut Gelding - 2002

Sire Richman’s Gold (USA)
Dam Biloxi Blue
Sire of Dam

Bennie has travelled more than most of us! He was born in Dubai and was a superstar racehorse. His owner loved him so much that he kept Bennie who was then schooled in dressage. When his owner returned to South Africa, he brought Benny with him, bumped into Christine at a braai, and that’s how became Melissa Knoetze’s horse!

Melissa rode as a child but she hadn’t ridden for many years. Luckily Bennie is beautifully schooled and has the sweetest nature – and so he and Melissa are improving every day. We can’t wait to cheer for them at their first show!

Bodenhauzen Zarak

Namibian Warmblood – Bay Gelding – 2002

Sire Grand Chasseur
Dam Bodenhausen Zuberei
Sire of Dam Attaché

Zarry is an absolute superstar who never stops surprising us! Before he started his stellar dressage career, he was a show jumper. His owner, Anna Nolte, took one look at this little horse when he came up for sale and he was hers!

Andy and Anna hoped that Zarry would make it to Elementary Medium and that he would be a fun horse for Anna to ride. But Zarry had other ideas – he had his eye on the biggest prize – Grand Prix!

Right now team Zarry (Super owner Anna, rider Andy and Zarry of course) are preparing for a 2020, with plans to perfect their Grand Prix skills and to do what Zarry loves best, dancing for his many fans.

They competed until 2012 where they achieved a double 1st place in Elementary Medium and 3rd place in the Adult Amateur Series Elementary class and year end kur.

Hilary has been very busy over the last while, setting up The Pony Academy and teaching young riders everything that they need to know, and she says that she can’t wait to get back into the saddle and into the show arena.

Shaggi is just gorgeous and he has amazing presence. He also jogs to his paddock like a racehorse every day!

Socs is an all-round nice person and an absolute professional in his work, always rising to the occasion. He used to be a show jumper but much prefers dancing in the dressage arena.

He loves any food he can find and never seems to stop growing! Most of all he loves showing off his spectacular extended trot across the diagonal and taking our breath away!

He’s been Christine’s dance partner for the past 12 years, and she schooled him from Prelim to Elementary Medium. They know each other inside and out, and Christine says that he’s the kindest and most generous horse she knows.

Van loves lying down in his stable for his afternoon nap and chatting to Christine and his groom, December.

He retired from his racing career at 5 years old and he and Tammy found each other about 2 years later, just before Valentines Day!

Even though Luna has been Reserve Champion at the Prelim Mini Champs, they aren’t resting on their laurels and they work hard on improving their dressage every day.

LaScala

Agbenoir's Fahrenheit

Hanovarian - Dark Bay Gelding - 2011

LaScala
Sire Five Star (HANN)
Dam Compton House Kariba (HANN)
Sire of Dam Kaiserkult (HANN)

Fahrenheit is bred for Grand Prix with a stellar pedigree, and looks and movement to match!

Farry is lucky to have such a talented young rider to guide him through the grades and we know that they’ll be doing amazing things in the future. He’s taken a little time to mature and Rexi has been taking it slowly with him to give him the time he needs to get mentally and physically stronger. Now that he’s ready, they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with!

Farry is the most curious horse we know and has a cheeky and mischievous personality. He’s really clever and Rexi works hard to keep him focused on the important things, instead of playtime!
